City working towards completing an agreement on transition.

The City is working towards completing an agreement with Morton Golf, LLC to take over the operations of William Land Golf Course beginning July 1, 2018. The company currently successfully operates the City’s three other golf courses — Haggin Oaks, Bing Maloney, and Bartley Cavanaugh.

City staff and officials have been working on solutions to continue operations of the iconic William Land Park golf course, and a partnership with Morton Golf will allow for a seamless transition.

As part of the transition, Morton Golf will continue to offer youth golf programs provided by First Tee of Greater Sacramento. Details on the agreement will be heard by City Council on June 19.

Keeping the William Land Golf Course open will provide the community continuous use of the public golf, preserve three existing full-time and 22 part-time golf course jobs, and the ability to add three to four additional full-time employees.
