Sacramento Public Library Director thanks Council, City staff for support following death of librarian Amber Clark

Sacramento Public Library Director Rivkah Sass thanked Councilmembers, City Manager Howard Chan and the Sacramento Police Department at the Dec. 18 City Council meetingĀ  for their support following the death of Amber Clark, a dedicated Natomas librarian.

“I’m amazed at the support we’ve received, whether it was from Councilmembers, from (City Manager) Mr. Chan, … it’s such a good example of what Sacramento is,” Sass said.

Clark was killed Dec. 11 outside of the North Natomas Library where she worked. Angelique Ashby, who is the Councilmember for the district, also gave a special speech remembering Clark and her contributions to the community and thanking Sac PD for their quick work in identifying and arresting a suspect in the case.

The Dec. 18 City Council meeting was adjourned in the memory of Clark. View Sass’ full speech below.
