Help plan our city at one of three visioning workshops

The City of Sacramento will host three visioning workshops to kick-off the 2040 General Plan Update, the City’s blueprint for how and where it will grow over the next 20 years. Also called Sacramento 2040, the plan contains policies that guide everything from transportation, housing, and jobs, to entertainment, public safety and much more.

Residents and community members are invited to attend the initial three workshops to discuss broad topics that will be included in the final general plan and directly shape how the City interacts with residents, business owners and visitors.

The overall effort includes nearly 30 events specific to the General Plan Update over the course of the next 12 months.

“The City is inviting the community to weigh in on guiding principles determined by the previous General Plan Update, as well as key topics including environmental justice, climate change, mobility, and livability,” said Remi Mendoza, Senior Planner and Project Manager, City of Sacramento, Community Development. “It is our goal to remain responsive to challenges within the community and the General Plan is a key part of that.”

RSVP for any of the workshops below, held from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

In parallel, the City will also be preparing an ambitious Climate Action Plan that outlines a community-wide framework for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and establishes Sacramento as a climate leader.
