Sacramento neighbors to celebrate police-community partnerships on Annual National Night Out

The 36th Annual National Night Out will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 across neighborhoods of Sacramento and the U.S.

Every year, local communities and neighborhoods host block parties, barbecues, ice-cream socials and other community events to embrace the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement.

The Neighborhood Services Division, in partnership with the Sacramento Police and Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment Departments, coordinate resources to support neighborhood-based National Night Out events across our city.

“Year after year, National Night Out is a great way for our City staff and law enforcement to interact with the community in a unique and positive way,” said Kriztina Palone, Interim Division Manager for Neighborhood Services.

“This partnership not only helps to further enhance our communities in meaningful ways, but it also reinforces the very point that together, we can build healthy, inclusive and thriving communities.”

Although many neighborhoods organize events that may be exclusive to immediate residents, here are this year’s publicly registered events to look for in your neighborhood.

Attendees will be able to meet and interact with local law enforcement.

National Night Out began in August 1984 with over 2.5 million attendees in 23 states.
