Find out how Sacramento is working to solve childcare and early learning issues

City of Sacramento, state and community leaders came together at the Early Learning and Childcare Summit on Jan. 15, 2020 at the Tsakopoulous Library Galleria in downtown Sacramento to have important conversations about the issues surrounding early learning and childcare in Sacramento.

The event that took place drew a crowd of more than 120 people. City of Sacramento speakers included Mayor Darrell Steinberg, Councilmember Eric Guerra, Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby, and Assistant City Manager Michael Jasso. They joined local, state and national experts to discuss how early learning and childcare intersect with economic growth, racial and economic equity and child well-being.

The goal of the event was to discuss the multifaceted topic with various stakeholders and brainstorm ways to take action to help families and children ages birth to 5 thrive.
