Help shape the future of Sacramento parks and win prizes

Want a chance to win a Chromebook or a gift card to one of your favorite stores?

The City of Sacramento’s Department of Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment is seeking community input for its Parks Master Plan 2040, a guiding document that will help outline how parks and related services will grow over the next 20 years.

“We want residents to lend their voices to the Master Plan so that City planners can create parks and services with lasting value for generations to come,” said Park Planning and Development Manager Raymond Costantino. “You become a ‘park superhero’ by getting involved and sharing your vision for the future of our City’s parks.”

Here’s how to get involved:

  • Take the “Maptionnaire” Parks Master Plan online survey for a chance to win a Chromebook.
  • Participate in a photo contest for a chance to win gift cards. Submit photos of what you like about City parks or what makes a great park (such as natural features, landscaping, playgrounds, sports fields, trails, programs/events, active recreation spaces). Photos will be shared on social media and in Parks Master Plan documents. Submit your photo by midnight on Sunday, Oct. 25 to be considered. Prizes include a $100 Best buy gift card, a $50 Safeway gift card, a $25 Target gift card and a $10 Starbucks gift card.
  • Draw your favorite park. Tell us what your favorite park looks like. Drawings will be shared on social media and in Parks Master Plan documents. Open to artists of all ages. Upload your drawing by midnight on Sunday, Oct. 25 to be considered.

Master Plan activities are available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese and Hmong.

Visit the Parks Master Plan 2040 page for more information and to get involved in the process.
