The planned conversion of North Natomas hotel to housing for families experiencing homelessness has been approved for $29 million in state funding.
Families are expected to move in this spring, according to Sacramento Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby, who represents Natomas and has pushed for the project.
The Staybridge Suites at 140 Promenade Circle will become Vista Nueva, a 116-unit permanent supportive housing community with onsite services for families and children.
It will be run by non-profit housing developer Jamboree in conjunction with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency. Learn more about Vista Nueva here.
Vista Nueva would be the second hotel conversion by the City of Sacramento using Homekey funds. Last year the city opened the La Mancha permanent supportive housing complex in the structure formerly occupied by the Woodspring Suites in south Sacramento.
