Come see the North Natomas Community Center & Aquatics Complex ahead of the grand opening

The public is invited to join the City’s Department of Youth, Parks and Community Enrichment and Vice Mayor Angelique Ashby for tours of the North Natomas Community Center & Aquatics Complex prior to the grand opening.

Tours will be held at 2601 New Market Drive, Wednesday, April 20 to Friday, April 22 from 3-6 p.m. The tour includes a 30-minute facility walkthrough, information on programs and services, Q&A with City and Council District One staff, and more. Swimming is not available during the tour.

“The North Natomas Aquatics Complex will be the 17th pool operated by the City, and the first regional aquatics facility designed to serve the entire city 10 months out of the year,” Jackie Beecham, recreation manager for YPCE’s Community Enrichment division said. “This facility will allow us to provide affordable and accessible water safety and recreation opportunities for youth and families all across the city, from traditional programming like swim lessons and recreational swimming, to hosting large swim meets and special community events.”

The grand opening will be held Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. There will be three 2-hour sessions held throughout the day: 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. This event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, guest speakers, music, lawn games and recreational swim sessions.

“The North Natomas Community Center and Aquatics Complex is an asset to the Sacramento region giving our families more recreational opportunities,” said Vice Mayor Ashby, who represents the district. “Additionally, this project has generated over 1,000 local jobs, has contributed to the local economy, and will continue to provide long term employment to Sacramento. It will bring tourism to our local businesses, hotels, and region.”

While the tours and grand opening are free, registration is required for all attendees including youth and children. Visit cityofsacramento.org/nnac for more information and to register.
