Come paint the town at these community mural paint days

Community members are invited to participate in the creation of new murals during the City of Sacramento’s final four community mural paint days.

The free events are part of the City’s Office of Arts and Culture pilot “Community Murals Sacramento” program, which selected 39 local artists to create 10 community-based murals across the city.

“We are thrilled that the Community Murals Sacramento program has been so successful in brining the community together to bring these murals to life,” said Donald Gensler, the City’s public art project manager. “We encourage all community members to come help us paint the last four murals at these family-friendly events.”

The events will feature live music, food, vendors and an opportunity to help paint a mural. No art experience is necessary, and all supplies will be provided.

All Sacramentans are invited to attend the upcoming events:

Artists and mural locations were selected by a diverse panel. The team of local artists partnered with area schools, houses of worship, neighborhood associations and residents to collaboratively design a mural that reflects the community’s values.

Funded by the City’s General Fund, the mural program is part of the City’s “Creative Edge” plan to bring art and culture to all Sacramento neighborhoods and communities.
