The City’s Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) will soon reassume operations of the Clunie Community Center, Shepard Garden and Arts Center and McKinley Rose Garden.
For the last 10 years, the spaces have been leased to and managed by Friends of East Sacramento—a local non-profit. YPCE will reassume operations starting Dec. 1.
Prior to the operations change, staff have created a community survey to receive input from residents that will help guide the Department in planning programs and services.
“As YPCE reassumes operations of these spaces we want to hear from the community on their priorities to ensure we’re providing relevant and equitable programming,” said Katie Houser, recreation superintendent.
The survey takes less than five minutes to complete and closes Dec. 9.
Rental applications for the facility and Rose Garden for the 2023 calendar year opened Nov. 1.
