The City of Sacramento has extended weather-respite operations at both its Outreach and Engagement Center and the North Fifth Street Shelter through Thursday morning, Feb. 2, as the region continues to experience cold nighttime temperatures.
Both locations will be open for short-term weather respite from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Walk-ups will be accepted, with the OEC (3615 Auburn Blvd.) able to accommodate up to 50 guests and the North Fifth shelter lobby (700 North Fifth St.) able to accommodate up to 20 guests. (Please note that North Fifth is for adults only and is unable to accommodate pets.)
Sacramento Regional Transit is continuing to provide free rides to and from local weather-respite centers. The City will continue to monitor the National Weather Service’s forecast and extend weather-respite operations as needed.
