The City of Sacramento is co-hosting an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Fair for residents to meet ADU professionals and learn about what’s possible on your lot.
This fair is open to the public with two dates to choose from on June 24 and 25.
“Any resident who is considering building an ADU will benefit from this event,” said Greta Soos, associate planner with the City. “This will be a one-stop shop to learn about all of the resources the City provides related to ADUs and will also be a great opportunity to meet people who can help you on your ADU journey.”
Those interested in attending can register for the events online:
10 a.m. to noon
Greater Sacramento Urban League, 3725 Marysville Blvd.
Noon to 3 p.m.
Luther Burbank High School, 3500 Florin Road
Co-hosted by Casita Coalition, a statewide nonprofit, and Stowers Team Mortgage, the events feature exhibits by ADU builders, lenders, designers and more.
Attendees can listen in on presentations from YouTube star Ryan O’Connell of “How to ADU”, the City of Sacramento, Meredith Stowers of CrossCountry Mortgage, and venue host the Greater Sacramento Urban League.
Earlier this year, the City made it easier to build ADUs by creating free, permit-ready building plans.
The City is implementing several strategies to incentivize more housing options including waiving fees for affordable housing construction, increasing ADU production, and allowing for a greater array of housing types such as duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes throughout the city.
