Learn about planned improvements along Fruitridge Road at an upcoming workshop

The City of Sacramento is hosting a community workshop to share planned transportation improvements for the Fruitridge Road corridor.

This in-person meeting will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at Earl Warren Elementary School (5420 Lowell St.). There will be a short presentation at 6 p.m., followed by an open house format.

This is the first workshop planned for the Fruitridge Road Improvements Project, with project limits along Fruitridge Road from 65th Street Expressway to Power Inn Road. Staff will discuss the planned updates and construction schedule.

“The City is improving safety for those walking, biking, taking transit, and driving, and improving connectivity for walking and biking along the corridor,” said Stephanie Saiz, engineer with the City’s Department of Public Works. “Our goal is to safely accommodate all modes of travel in the project area.”

The project includes plans for pavement rehabilitation, continuous bike lanes, reconstructing curb ramps, upgrading signal equipment, and other improvements.

Community members can register for the open house and sign-up for email updates on the City’s website.
