Check out these family-friendly October events from Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment

The City’s Department of Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment (YPCE) wants you to mark your calendars for these fun October events.

From dog-friendly aquatics events to spooky themed movie nights, YPCE is offering multiple activities across Sacramento for all to enjoy.

Boo Bash

Belle Cooledge Community Center

Friday, Oct. 20 | 6:30-9 p.m.

Dress up in your best Halloween costumes for a screening of “Hocus Pocus” and enjoy a haunted house, pumpkin patch, seasonal crafts, fresh popcorn and a dog costume contest.

Tuesday, Oct. 24 | 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

This Halloween event features games, crafts and more for children ages 0-4 years of age and parents/guardians of all ages.

Floating Pumpkin Patch

Saturday, Oct. 28 | 1-4 p.m.

Join the annual Floating Pumpkin Patch events featuring arts, crafts, games and activities including the pumpkin pool plunge.

Pricing: $5 entrance fee (includes pumpkin); $2 entrance fee (does not include pumpkin)

Thursday, Oct. 26 | 6-8 p.m.

Enjoy a haunted house, explore various vendors, and trick-or-treat for candy.

Friday, Oct. 27 | 6-8 p.m.

This event is a collaboration of Kids Night Out and Teen Hotspot night featuring a haunted house, live music and raffle prices. Food will also be provided.

Fright Night at Sim

George Sim Community Center

Friday, Oct. 27 | 6-8 p.m.

Join for an indoor trick-or-treat and haunted house experience featuring pumpkin decorating, a photo booth, cookies and hot cider.

Freaky Friday

South Natomas Community Center

Friday, Oct. 27 | 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Stop by to participate in a costume contest for kids and adults, snap pictures in the photo booth, and join in candy giveaways and raffles.

Spookyacular Movie Night

North Natomas Aquatics Complex (register here; drop-ins welcome)

Friday, Oct. 27 | 6-8 p.m. (doors open at 5 p.m.)

Watch Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” under the moonlit sky, take part in giveaways and enjoy popcorn and candy.
