City seeks public input on next phase of Norwood and Howe safety improvements

From safer crosswalks to improved bike connections, the next phase of planning for Norwood and Howe Avenues is taking shape. The City’s Transportation Planning Team has developed public draft plans that turn community ideas into practical designs for safer, more connected neighborhoods.

The draft plans for the Norwood Mobility Plan and the Connecting Howe Avenue Safety and Mobility Plan reflect community comments and preferences gathered during Phase 2 of engagement over the summer.

Phase three engagement will include multiple opportunities for community members to weigh in on the draft plans, including four upcoming workshops and several community “pop-ins” in October.

“Community feedback has guided every step of these projects,” said Charisse Padilla, associate transportation planner with Public Works. “The draft plans reflect that input in ways that will make Norwood and Howe more comfortable for everyone who travels them.”

The review and comment period for the Norwood Mobility Plan is now open and runs through Nov. 2. Review the draft online at NorwoodMobility.org.
