The City of Sacramento’s Department of Public Works is alerting walkers, runners and cyclists about two shared-use path detours in the city.
American River levee & shared-use path detour
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is constructing levee improvements between the Guy West Bridge and Glenn Hall Park/Paradise Beach in River Park.
The levee shared-use path between Glenn Hall Park and the Guy West Bridge is expected to be closed through November 2022 to complete the levee work.
Signage has and will continue to be added around the project area showing detour routes through Sacramento State University that allow for walking and bicycling access to the Guy West Bridge.

Miller Park path detour
To accommodate the Sacramento Marina’s yearly dredging, the City has moved the temporary safe parking site in Miller Park to a nearby portion of Ramp Way.
Cyclists and others who usually use Ramp Way to travel through Miller Park will be routed to a temporary path detour along Broadway and Front Street.
Signage will be posted to alert users of the path detour. Notification will be shared when the detour is no longer in place.
