With holiday shopping right around the corner, the City of Sacramento has relaunched its Shop 916 gift card program with a special promotion of buy a gift card, get a bonus gift card.
The electronic gift card, launched by the City in December 2021, is a program that supports local storefront retailers negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Shop 916 gift card can be used at any participating business within the city.

The program is funded from the City Council approved American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding for business recovery efforts.
“The Shop 916 gift card is a great way to support Sacramento businesses while getting some extra spending money for the holiday season,” said Valerie Mamone-Werder, the City’s project development manager responsible for the program. “This is a great way to give gifts and impact the local economy. And there is still time for businesses to sign up for this free program.”
