UPDATE: Both locations remain open through Friday, Jan. 13, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents must fill their own bags as staff will not be available to assist.
The City of Sacramento is reopening two locations where residents can fill sandbags on Saturday, Jan. 7, and Sunday, Jan. 8.
The locations, which are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., are the South Area Corporation Yard (5730 24th St.) and the North Area Corporation Yard (918 Del Paso Road).
Sand and bags will be available to City residents for free. Staff can assist in filling bags, but residents must provide their own transportation.
A maximum of 10 bags will be offered per vehicle.
People are encouraged to call 3-1-1 to report storm-related issues. Power outages should be reported to the Sacramento Municipal Utilities District by calling 1-888-456-SMUD (7683).
Call 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency.
