District 8 Councilmember Larry Carr and the City of Sacramento invite the public to participate in LeVar Burton Day, which celebrates Mr. Burton, the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning host of children’s educational program “Reading Rainbow,” star of “Roots” and “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and native son of Sacramento.
On Tuesday, June 11, Councilmember Carr and the City of Sacramento’s Youth, Parks, & Community Enrichment department will host an official dedication ceremony of LeVar Burton Park, formerly Richfield Park, in the Meadowview neighborhood just blocks from where Mr. Burton grew up.
Food trucks, music and more will be a part of the event.
