City activates Outreach and Engagement Center and North Fifth Street Shelter as warming centers Nov. 28-29

With the National Weather Service predicting temperatures in the mid-to-low 30s for the next two nights, the City of Sacramento on Monday, Nov. 28, will activate both the Outreach and Engagement Center and the North Fifth Street Shelter lobby as weather respite centers.

Both locations will be open for short-term weather respite from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Nov. 28 and 29. Walk-ups will be accepted, with the OEC (3615 Auburn Boulevard) able to accommodate up to 50 guests and the North Fifth shelter (700 North Fifth St.) able to accommodate up to 20 guests.

Please note that the North Fifth lobby is for adults only and is unable to accommodate pets.

The City will continue to monitor the National Weather Service’s forecast and extend warming-center operations as needed.
