About Ethel MacLeod Hart:

When Ethel MacLeod Hart passed away in 1992 at the age of 104, she left a $1.5 million bequest to the City of Sacramento for the benefit of senior citizens. A $1 million endowment was established, and in 1996, the City Council authorized the City Treasurer to invest the funds (Resolution No. 96-202).

These funds continue to support programs and facilities such as the Hart Senior Center (915 27th St.), ensuring seniors enjoy comfort, engagement, and community.
