CityConnect comes to Meadowview Aug. 20
Join City staff and community members at CityConnect on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Pannell Meadowview Pool, 2450 Meadowview Road. This month’s free event will feature Youth, Parks & Community Enrichment and opportunities to learn about City projects, programs and services.
Adopt a dog for free through Aug. 23
Front Street Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for all adoptable dogs through Sunday, Aug. 23. The shelter is open daily from noon to 5 p.m. for residents interested in meeting a dog looking for a new home.
Learn about proposed water and sewer rate adjustments
Residents are encouraged to review proposed adjustments to City drinking water and sewer rates. Rates have remained unchanged since 2020, while operating and maintenance costs have increased.
Help shape Sacramento’s future housing and zoning
Residents have until Aug. 31 to provide feedback through the Missing Middle Housing survey and on the City’s 2040 General Plan and Zoning Consistency work.
Public Works projects earn regional awards
Three City Public Works projects received 2026 Project of the Year awards from the Sacramento Chapter of the American Public Works Association: the Sacramento EV Blueprint, Franklin Boulevard Complete Street project and Martin Luther King Jr. Library renovation.
Help care for the McKinley Park Rose Garden
Residents can volunteer at the McKinley Park Rose Garden every Wednesday through October, from 8 a.m. to noon, at 3255 H St. No experience is necessary, and tools are provided.
